Geraldines add U14 Division One title to their trophy haul

The Geraldines U14 girls team added the Louth Ladies Division One League trophy to the Feile title they won last month by beating St Patrick’s in a nail biting final at Na Piarsaigh’s ground on Friday night.

In a very tight competitive game, the Geraldines went in at half time, leading 0–5 to 0–1 thanks to points from Leah McArdle (0–2), Sophia Murdock (0–2) and Zoe McGahon.

St Patrick’s got an early goal in the second half to pull them right back into the game and it took points from the ever dependable Neasa Reilly and Beth Hughes to steady the Geraldines ship.

A very nervy ending ensued but some heroic defending by the rock solid Zoe Stewart enabled the the Geraldines to hold on and take the title.

A celebratory cavalcade through Blackrock followed as the team and their mentors took more silverware back to Haggardstown.
